At Learning in the Real World, we do things differently. We bridge the gap between textbook concepts and the actual world through hands-on, project-based learning for children aged 5 to 15.

We don't force rigid lesson plans. Instead, we follow your child’s unique interests—whether that’s space, cooking, robotics, fashion, or video games—and bake core academics right into projects they actually care about!

Example projects individualised for each child and their interests.

Minecraft Maths Project:

Because Minecraft is a massive grid system, it is essentially a 3D geometry engine.

Here are concrete ways to teach math using the game:

The Fortress Blueprint (Area, Perimeter, & Scaling):The Project: Students draw a blueprint of their dream castle on physical grid paper first, using a scale (e.g., 1 square on paper = 4 blocks in-game).The Math: They must calculate the total area and perimeter of their layout before they are allowed to lay a single block in-game.

The Mega-Storage System (Volume & Multiplication):The Project: Building a treasure chest room to hold their resources. The Math: Students figure out the volume (L × W × H) needed to house a specific number of items. They calculate total items using the game's native "stacks of 64" rule (e.g., "If I have 5 stacks of iron ore, how many total iron ingots do I have?"), which beautifully introduces long multiplication, division, and basic algebra variables.

The Redstone Engineering Lab (Logic & Coordinates):The Project: Creating secret doors or moving traps using the game's electrical wiring system (Redstone). The Math: Introduces 3D coordinate grids (X, Y, Z axes) to position items correctly, alongside structural logic gates (AND, OR, NOT statements) used in computer science.

Dinosaurs, Animals, & Nature

The Wildlife Rescue Sanctuary (Data Management & Literacy):

Best for: Animal lovers and dinosaur enthusiasts.

The Project: Setting up a fictional rescue zoo or nature reserve.

The Science & English: Researching animal diets, habitats, and environmental needs. Students write a field journal documenting their animals’ behaviors and construct a strict map layout allocating precise habitat zones based on animal size and dietary ratios.

Fashion, Art, & Design

Launch a Clothing Brand (Financial Literacy, Geometry, & Persuasive Writing):Best for: Creative kids who love drawing, clothing, or interior styling.T

The Project: Designing a miniature clothing collection or room model.

The Math & English: Measuring dimensions accurately and understanding symmetrical patterns. They calculate production costs, set retail prices to understand profit margins, and write a persuasive advertising campaign to sell their designs.
